Protect sign-in and check the security controls associated with your account.
Enable two-factor authentication
Open the profile menu → Security → Two-Factor Authentication. Start setup, follow the authenticator instructions and save the recovery key securely, separately from your authentication device.
Confirm that setup is complete
Scan the displayed QR code, enter the verification codes requested on the page and confirm. Check that two-factor authentication is shown as enabled before leaving.
Review your other security settings
In Security, review Device Management, Account Activity, Address Book, saved Send-to recipients and Anti-phishing Code. Use a unique password and sign out after using a shared device.
Never share a setup QR code, recovery key, password or one-time code. If the authenticator is lost, use official account recovery; an immediate reset is not guaranteed.
What to send support
Which security control is affected, whether you can still sign in, the exact error and when it began. Keep authenticator secrets out of screenshots.
