Stop, take-profit and other conditional orders

A trigger activates an instruction. It does not guarantee the final execution price.

1

Separate the trigger from execution

Stop Limit activates a limit order when its trigger condition is met; a fill still needs matching liquidity at an eligible price. Stop Market activates a market instruction and may execute at a different price from the trigger.

2

Check the reference price and size

Review the trigger reference offered by the market, such as Last or Mark Price, together with side and quantity. For a Futures exit, check which position the instruction will affect and whether it reduces the intended size.

3

Review linked and moving conditions

Take Profit activates the configured exit instruction. A Trailing Stop follows a favourable price move until the defined reversal. OCO links two instructions according to the product’s cancellation rules. Use only the types available in the selected market, then verify their status.

Before you continue

A stop is not a guaranteed loss ceiling. A trigger can be reached while the resulting order is unfilled or only partly filled.

What to send support
