OTC: review the quote before you trade

Check the complete quoted exchange and compare it with your intended trade before accepting it.

1

Understand the type of trade

OTC uses a quote for a proposed exchange. Spot trading places an order in the exchange market, where execution depends on the order type and available liquidity. Decide which flow you are using before comparing prices or checking a result; an OTC quote is not a limit order waiting in the Spot order book.

2

Set the exchange you actually want

In the OTC flow offered in your account, select the asset you will spend, the asset you will receive and the amount. Read any verification, eligibility or size requirement shown there. Check which asset the amount field uses and whether the relevant balance is available.

3

Review the complete current quote

OTC costs are included in the quote; there is no separate OTC fee. Compare the amount to be debited, amount to be received and quoted exchange rate. Check any validity condition before accepting. Do not treat a market’s last-traded price as the final OTC price: the quote is the complete pricing reference for this exchange.

4

Confirm only after checking the result

Review the final confirmation for the intended assets and amounts, then follow the offered confirmation flow. A requested or displayed quote is not proof that a trade completed. Check the resulting operation record and wallet balances after confirmation.

5

If you are comparing OTC and Spot

Compare the same assets, trade size and time, including the actual total to be paid or received. For Spot, consider the order type, fees and available liquidity. For OTC, use the current quote and its conditions. Neither a favourable displayed rate nor a previous quote guarantees the result of a later operation.

Before you continue

All OTC costs are included in the quote. Check the supported assets, trade size and quote conditions before accepting; this does not guarantee unlimited size, instant settlement or that a later quote will have the same price.

What to send support

OTC reference or quote reference if shown, assets, amount, time and timezone, quoted totals, current status and exact error. Do not include account passwords, API secrets or one-time codes.
